Trauma Therapy

Trauma Therapy in Greensburg, PA

Trauma is not only a memory — it is a nervous system that learned to stay ready for danger. That is why you can know you are safe and still feel anything but.

Our trauma-informed therapists help you understand what your body is doing, build regulation skills first, and then process the experiences that shaped you at a pace you control.

Trauma therapy may help if you

  • Feel hypervigilant, jumpy, or unable to relax
  • Experience flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive memories
  • Go numb, dissociate, or feel disconnected from yourself
  • Avoid people, places, or conversations that remind you
  • Carry shame from something that was not your fault
  • Notice that old experiences are shaping current relationships

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to talk about the details?

No. Effective trauma work does not require retelling everything. We follow your lead and use approaches that can work without exhaustive detail.

Is EMDR available?

Yes. Our clinicians completed EMDR training through The Institute for Creative Mindfulness and offer it as part of trauma care.

What if I feel worse before better?

Temporary intensity can happen. We build coping skills first and adjust pacing whenever the work becomes too much.
